All that time you spend on Facebook is paying off! There’s a benefit to sites like Twitter and Facebook: It’s making us more creative and deeper thinkers. In other words… smarter! That’s according to Clive Thomas, who wrote the book, “Smarter Than You Think: How Technology Is Changing Our Minds For The Better.” Thomas says, sites like Facebook encourage “public thinking” – meaning we broadcast our thoughts and ideas.
Studies show when we write for an audience – even our Facebook friends or Twitter followers – we try to be more clever, or write more intelligently. And that helps us think more deeply and work harder at sounding, and being, smart.
How has social media helped your business? Are you thinking of new ways to reach your customers and to benefit their lives? Remember, every post you write should focus on THEM. The most persuasive word in the English language is ‘YOU’, so use it liberally.
